Our Client, a well funded Startup Cannabis Distribution Company in California is seeking a Director of Distribution to join their growing team. The Director of Distribution will be responsible for the planning and management of all product distribution activities to achieve company goals, including the tracking and maintaining all incoming and outgoing shipments.

The ideal candidate will be a driven leader, passionate about improving the wellbeing of others through cannabis, have a strong work ethic, and be proactive and self-motivated.

Job Responsibilities

  • Add Accounts for company to distribute to and brands to distribute for.
  • Overseeing all distribution activities for California
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices with team members.
  • Implement new distribution software, policies and strategies to obtain profitability.
  • Analyze existing distribution procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor and manage daily inventories at distribution center.
  • Identify appropriate resources and assign workload and schedules to them.
  • Oversee daily operations of team members and provide assistance whenever needed.
  • Perform basic administration duties and maintain clear and complete accounting records.
  • Provide outstanding customer services and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Generate monthly reports of inventory levels for management.
  • Manage storage and handling of inventories in warehouses.
  • Prepare budgets and manage expenses within budgets.
  • Manage drivers to perform distributions in the assigned routes.
  • Responsible for overseeing the quality execution of all distribution processes and procedures such as routing and forecasting, daily dispatch and scheduling multiple customer deliveries.
  • Responsible for projecting workforce and vehicle needs to ensure proper coverage
  • Recruit and retain employees who possess knowledge, experience and behavioral skills that will help the business reach its goals
  • Monitor and assure compliance in areas including safety, health/environmental, human resources and financial/ ethical considerations
  • Responsible for managing the proper workforce and workforce hours to operate the Distribution Center in the most efficient manner possible, while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Education and Required Skills 

  • Experience in cannabis distribution of flower, vape pens, topicals, and/or tinctures preferred
  • Experience with consumer goods (Food, Beverage or Pharma etc) a plus
  • Previous experience driving KPIs
  • Previous experience implementing an ERP or Inventory management system
  • Experience with logistics, 3PL, manufacturing and distribution
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Very strong computer skills including Excel and MS Suite
Compensation: $120,000-140,000 Based on Experience
