Our client, a Southern California Cannabis Retailer, is looking for a Director of Human Resources to join their team. This person will be responsible for the administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function for this expanding cannabis company.
Working in a fast-paced and fluid environment, the HR Director will set policies and procedures for the HR function of this company, and will be responsible for other general duties in regards to staffing, employee management, payroll and benefit administration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving
  • Handles all recruitment tasks for the warehouse and office location (reviews applications, interviews).
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Conducts new-employee orientations; support in the development of the orientation.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Support the Corporate Leadership Team in ensuring that all OSHA and safety policies are followed.
  • Weekly supports in the collection of payroll needed items.
  • Reports vacation, sick, personal day and holiday use to payroll and scheduling.
  • Prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits I-9 forms

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years progressively responsible experience in the HR or a related field
  • Cannabis and/or Retail experience is required
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and experience
  • Computer skills: Google Docs, Word, Excel, HR database software, Applicant tracking software, PowerPoint
  • PHR or other HR certification desired

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 based on experience, Benefits
