Victor, CPA (active) has 12+ years of progressive accounting experience:
6 years of public accounting at a large nationwide CPA firm, 6 years at his own CPA firm doing hands-on daily accounting functions and tax returns for small clients, and 1 year working for a multi-entity, vertically integrated cannabis company.
At the cannabis company, Victor is responsible for the setup of the systems, the day-to-day accounting transactions of multiple entities monitoring the overall financial performance, preparation of financial statements, budgeting, cash flow planning, account reconciliation and intercompany transactions, analysis of financial reports, and tax preparation according to 280e.
Victor also has extensive knowledge of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration sales and use taxes and special taxes and fees for cannabis tax returns, including cultivation and excise tax with arm’s length and non-arm’s length transactions.
He understands the California Cannabis Track and Trace (CCTT) system and METRC.
He also has comprehensive knowledge of labor peace agreements with a union as a condition for licensing under California’s labor peace statute – the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA)
