Our client, an established, vertically integrated cannabis company is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee all the accounting operations for their multi-entity operation based in the Fresno, CA area.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting
- Manage month-end closing and draft monthly financial statements and other operational reports
- Assist in preparing the budget and analyzing variances
- Consolidate multiple entitles including Retail, manufacturing, cultivation, etc.
- Inventory Reconciliation
- Assist in hiring and training new staff
- Collaborate with the start-up management team explain results,
- Monitor and implement internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets and identify risks
- Ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Assist in estimate product costs to support quoting activities
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years experience in accounting, Cannabis industry experience a plus
- US GAAP knowledge
- CPA or actively pursuing a CPA a plus
- Chart of accounts, trial balance and journal entries experience
- Cost accounting experience
- QuickBooks experience
- ERP implementation experience
- Analytical skills
- Ability to demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity
- Team player with the potential to lead to reach a common goal
Compensation: $165,000 Plus Benefits
***Hybrid position with 2-3 days a week in office***
