Alanah is an experienced Microbiologist.
- She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Microbiology.
- She also has a diploma in Medical Lab Technology.
Alanah learned about the day-to-day functioning of labs in her first role and was exposed to environments with minimal resources available.
- She was able to bring that experience to work in the United States–most recently at a food industry testing laboratory.
Alanah was selected to be part of a team developing SOPs for cannabis testing; however, the project was delayed because of COVID.
Within 1 year of her employment at the lab, Alanah was promoted to Microbiologist II along with Method Validation Specialist.
- She was awarded employee of the year in Microbiology in 2019 and employee of the month 7 times in her 4-year tenure.
Alanah was also part of a team developing SOPs for cannabis testing with plans to lead the team upon launch.
- She was also the Lead Trainer for new technicians for rapid method assays (VIDAS, RT-PCR, VITEK) and the FDA Coordinator for imported foods and spices.
Alanah is excited and looking forward to the potential opportunity to work as a Lead Microbiologist. She is sure her past experiences will help her succeed in this role.
